Live with art that sparks joy

Art that keeps you curious.

My artwork is an extension of who I am, a lover of life and art and a maker of
objects referential of my lived experience. While I create artwork in a variety
of mediums, my painting method is a hybrid of fiber and painting processes
I refer to as “quilting with paint”. I stencil thirty to forty layers of paint on birch panel, carefully crafting hard edged shapes that together create a quilt-like surface
through juxtaposed colors and textures.

While the content of my work varies from series to series, the way in which
I work continuously references my grandmother’s textile practice in sewing,
crochet, and quilting.

About the Artist:

I was raised in Greenville, South Carolina where I spent most of my youth digging wild clay in the creek, catching critters in the woods, and exploring in nature.

My life and my work are intertwined. I create from a place of wonder and joy and frequently find excuses to use raucous color.

Given the opportunity, I’ll tell you about my grandmother’s textile practice, my uncle’s wood-working, and my obsession with materials.
