Glory Day’s paintings are created through hand-painted layers of acrylic paint on cradled birch panels. With each layer of paint added to the painting, she uses masking tape and hand-cut shapes to create a collage-like painting surface. The result are paintings that pay homage to her grandmother’s quilts, where many textured shapes are juxtaposed to create an image relating to day-to-day life.
